Good-bye and Good Riddance 2020, Hello 2021 Wow! What a year! Like all of you, we are saying “Good-bye, Good Riddance 2020” and looking forward to a brighter, happier, healthier 2021. Once again, we are bringing in the new year in our little favorite cottage at the Albion River Inn in Mendocino, albeit, a very different experience than in the past 25 years of us coming up here to celebrate New Years together. Usually a food-centric weekend dining at our favorite restaurants, we are now supporting them by bringing back take-out and eating by the fire and the sound of the ocean waves. There will be no browsing in the little stores in the village, but in between rain storms we plan on taking long hikes on the coastal trails. Having not followed my friends into retirement yet, this has been a bittersweet year. I love a good challenge, or I wouldn’t have ever become a school principal.
